Review for a Alaska Cruise on Noordam

The cruise and ports were fantastic. The food was average at best. Avoid the Lido market use the dining room instead. Do not buy the Coca-Cola package…it is a total rip off there is no place to get Coke onboard other than a lounge where if you ask for a Coke they get real annoyed. Our room stewards were the best part of the trip. Service in the Lido Market was poor. This is the second time we

Background: I am 22 years old and have cruised on Carnival, Celebrity, NCL, and Princess. My mom and I chose this cruise solely for the itinerary and for the affordability -- we booked extremely last minute (2 days before embark…). This review encompasses experiences and opinions from both of us. To start: We flew into Anchorage day of and took the ACT bus straight from the airport to the

The overall cruise experience was disappointing, mostly due to the Denali experience at the end of the cruise. The food options at the Lido were limited and often warm, not hot. The Lido was always crowded, though the Lido is mostly a buffet. It's always very crowded, so open tables are very difficult to find. The lines for food at Lido were slow. The main dining room wasn't much better than

My son and I sailed on the Noordam on April 30 on its 5-night itinerary to Ketchikan, AK and Prince Rupert, BC. It was my second Alaska cruise (my 11th overall) and my son’s first time in Alaska. For both of us, it was our first experience with a Holland America line ship.Overall, we had a fun time and any complaints are more about details than core elements. As I always say, the mass

We were very excited to once again travel on HAL. It had been a few years so were really looking forward to stopping off a several ports in NZ as well as Hobart and Melbourne. Boarding in Auckland was a breeze, everything was well planned and executed by port staff. It was all downhill from there. The weather was on most days terrible but that is what can happen in summer in NZ so we were

I write this from the Rolling Stone Lounge on MS Noordam. A lovely time overall, the band is awesome!!!! but children under 10 running wild at 10:15pm in the rolling stone lounge with inadequate parental supervision is not my my idea of a good time. Precocious children spoil the fun for adults who just want to have a good time from an adult perspective. A few drinks and a bit of a dance is

I always tell people to take reviews with a grain of salt - some people are just complainers ... and some see everything with rose-colored glasses. But when the same complaints come up again and again, do not ignore the warnings. The negative comments regarding this ship - are accurate.1. Noordam is OLD, tired, and worn out. It deserves a major overhaul. Not only is the furniture, art,

I'm not normally someone to complain and I generally try to approach things with empathy but I was so disappointed by this cruise. First of all, we booked my parents (aged 65-70) an accessibility room which was not at all accessible. The cruise line refused any type of compensation even though one of the staff suggested they fight for it. At 6'5 My father couldn't even fit on the bed and my
