How many ships do the Teekay tankers have? ›

Teekay Tankers has a fleet of 44 double-hull tankers (including 25 Suezmax tankers and 19 Aframax / LR2 tankers), and also has eight time chartered-in tankers. Teekay Tankers' vessels are typically employed through a mix of spot tanker market trading and short- or medium-term fixed-rate time charter contracts.

Mitsui OSK Lines ranks first in the list of the largest oil tanker companies in the world. Commonly known as MOL, the company is one of the largest shipping companies in the world and operates a fleet of more than 930 vessels with a deadweight of 66 million tons (DWT).

While MOL still emerges as the leader, Qatar Gas Transport ranks second, with NYK Line and MISC – Malaysia's leading shipping line – tied for third with 31 vessels. Completing the top five is Maran Gas Maritime.
