He had fought a courageous bat- Biggs Lee Biggs, 72, of City, died at his home surby his family at JERRY L. BIGGS tle with cancer for several months. He was born July 26, 1938, in Connersville, the son of Ernest and Dorothy Timmerman Biggs and graduated from Connersville High School, class of 1957. Following graduation, he became a journeyman tool and die maker and was employed by Mac Machine for several years. Later he worked for Delco in Kokomo, where he retired after 23 years in 2004 as a tool and die maker.

After his retirement, he worked part-time for a family owned business, Industrial Tool Die of Connersville. On March 15, 1958, he was married in Connersville to Bobbie Ann Sexton. Together they raised five children: Vickie, Pamela, Terry, Sharon and George; and a granddaughter, Amber Hanco*ck. They moved to Fountain City upon Jerry's retirement in 2004. Bobbie Ann died Jan.

21, 2007. During his leisure, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Bobbie and Jerry were known for hosting family cookouts and gatherings. Survivors include four children, Vickie Lynn Newton and husband William, Pamela Sue Johnson and husband Kenneth, Terry Duane Biggs and Tina, George Anthony Biggs and Sara, and Amber Hanco*ck and husband Marco; 14 grandchildren, Erin, Dustin, Bobby, Zach, Crystal, April, Travis, Lance, Brandon, Adam, Rachelle, Brittany, Derek, Austin; 13 great grandchildren, Ashley, Chace, Blake, Ella, Lance, Chloe, Lillian, Audrey, Alexander, Payton, Wyatt, Nyla and Ella; one sister, Carol Hamm and husband Ted; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his wife, Bobbie Ann Biggs, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Kay Laymance who died April 18, 2010; two brothers, Dale and Robert; a sister, Donna Biggs Bean; and his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Scott Robinson of the Williamsburg Church of the Nazarene at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home in Connersville where friends may visit from 11 a.m. until the time of services on Monday. Burial will be in Lick Creek Cemetery.

12, PHYLLIS I. ETZLER 1929, to the late Aaron and Bertha (Bridgett) Dershem. Phyllis is a graduate of New Madison High School. She later worked and retired from FRAM after 25 years of service. Phyllis enjoyed knitting, fishing and collecting salt and pepper shakers.

She was also a member of Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren. Most of all, Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by a son, Jack Etzler; sisters, Margaret Boyer, Carolyn Stewart, Maxine Curtis and an infant sister. Phyllis leaves behind her husband of 56 years, Gerald Etzler; two sons, Jerald Etzler and Joe Etzler; a daughter, Jill Etzler; two grandchildren, Amanda Etzler-Farber and IO Etzler; two brothers, Lew Dershem and Glenn "Bill" Dershem; two sisters, Janet Waltz and Ruth Puterbaugh.
